بدلالة وحدة البي تي يو (BTU).
بدلالة وحدة الواط (W).
بدلالة LRA.
بدلالة الأمبير (A).
وفي الغالب قد تجد هذه الوحدات مكتوبة على جسم الوحدة الخارجية أو على الضاغط نفسه، وبإيجادنا قيمة وحدة من هذه الوحدات، يمكننا معرفة قدرة الضاغط بالحصان.

مثال1
مكيف مكتوب عليه 12000BTU، ما قدرة الضاغط بوحدة الحصان؟
ملحوظة: كل 8000BTU يساوي 1 حصان (8000BTU=1hp).
الحل:
قدرة المكيف بالحصان= 12000 ÷ 8000 = 1.5 حصان
مثال 2:
ضاغط مكيف قدرة 1100 وات، احسب قدرته بالحصان؟ علماً بأن 1 حصان يساوي 746 وات.
الحل:
القدرة بالحصان= 1100 ÷ 746 = 1.47 حصان
مثال 3:
مكيف كهربائي يسحب 5.3 أمبير، يعمل على 220 فولت، ما قدرته بالحصان؟
الحل:
القدرة بالحصان= (الأمبير × الفولت) ÷ 746
= (5.3 × 220) ÷ 746 = 1.5 حصان
يمكن أيضاً قياس أمبير الضاغط أو الكباس بواسطة جهاز الكلامب ميتر، ولكن يجب أن التأكد من أن دورة التبريد جيدة وليس بها أي عطل قد يؤثر على قيمة الأمبير.
ولإيجاد قدرة الضاغط بالحصان بدلالة LRA، قسم قيمة LRA على 24 في حال كان المصدر 1 فاز ويعمل على 220 فولت، بينما في الضواغط 3 فاز 380 فولت قسم على 12.
